Crescent Heights Apartments
Crescent Heights provides apartment style living units for medical students studying at the Tufts Medical School within Maine Medical Center. The project, located on a severely sloping site adjacent to the hospital, received LEED Platinum Certification scoring 22 points in excess of the 80 points required – a remarkable achievement for a commercial housing development.
The building uses 37 percent less energy and 30 percent less water than a typical apartment building. Sustainable features include ultra high efficiency HVAC system, automatic lighting controls, super- insulated building envelope , and a solar hot water heating system.
