Wild Oats Bakery & Restaurant

This new 20,000 s.f. facility makes use of a pre-engineered metal building system that helped to speed construction time and contain costs while also allowing for a variety of interesting spaces that define the various program elements. The building includes two commercial kitchens- one for baking and the other for preparation of food for the restaurant and ready-made meals to take home. The restaurant includes large indoor and outdoor seating areas and a central bar that was fabricated entirely from re-purposed materials. Also included is a retail center for baked goods, ready made meals and other products offered for sale.

Sustainable features incorporated into the design include a large solar array producing hot water for the kitchens, a high efficiency envelope utilizing insulated wall panels and high performance glazing, as well as, an automated lighting control system that dims artificial lighting when sufficient natural light is present to light the spaces.
